Back Pain/ Leg Pain exam: special tests

Straight Leg Raising Test and it’s variations are the most common tests when you have leg pain, numbness, tingling. Other less commonly used tests are Bowstring sign and Slump test. They all test for reproduction or worsening of leg pain/ numbness/ tingling. When positive they are indicative of nerve pinching, but they are also positive when that is not the case (not very specific).
