Your back pain is now less frequent or does not affect you as much.

Maintain it!

  • Lift objects with knee bent, and the object close to your body, with a straight back as much as possible. Do this for all lifting, so that it becomes a habit when you do have to lift a heavy object

  • Sleep on a firm bed. Sometimes fetal position may be helpful for some.

  • Wear low heel or flat shoes

  • Make sure your blood tests show that you have normal calcium and vitamin D, otherwise supplement.

  • Try maintain proper posture. See what works for you: while sitting, you may need a small box/ stool to raise your feet; you may need to raise your chair/ work table height, you may need to get a pillow/ towel/ support at the back if it helps. Make sure your head/neck is in a straight line with your back.

  • If your job involves mostly sitting, take a 5 min break at least every hour to walk around. Or exercise. One easy way to accomplish this, is to drink water ;).

  • Try to get other problems addressed, eg coughing for months/ years ( from smoking etc) can cause back pain

  • Stop smoking. Prevent excessive weight gain.

  • Finally, continue your exercises most days.
